During this beautiful period of New Year, whilst wishing you all a very joyful and festive holiday period, I also faithfully call upon all the supremely enlightened masters of the ten directions, and of the past, present and future, and appeal that they shower their blessings upon the entirety of humanity right around the globe. We are attaching the newsletter of MKCH. I am sure all our friends and supporters will rejoice the upgradation of machineries, equipments and Charitable medical services undertaken by MKCH. I would like to bring your kind attention to the critical situation of healthcare in the high himalayan region. There are under equipped hospitals with not enough qualified Doctors, many individuals cannot afford medical treatment, people have to travel long distances encountering climatic challenges and difficult terrain to avail medical care. Inaccessible and inadequate medical care results in suffering, delayed diagnosis of diseases resulting in loss of lives. I have worked tirelessly with local communities in the Himalayan region of Ladakh. I have witnessed first- hand sufferings of the people due to unhygienic living conditions, illnesses, ignorance toward health problems and lack of access to basic medical care. Since, 1995, I have tried to reach out to some of the poorest and most isolated communities in the high Himalayas of Ladakh sharing borders with China and Pakistan, to ensure the basic medical services provided to them. The Mahabodhi Karuna Charitable Hospital has done commendable work in reaching out to every individual with an overwhelming scale and urgency to healthcare requirements. I have felt the need to do more in the field of medical care and expand the work beyond Ladakh. This has prompted me to take the bold decision of establishing the Global Doctors Association for the Himalayas, to solicit the help of people around the world, especially doctors and medicals professionals, to work together for delivering better medical care to those people of the Himalayan region who desperately need assistance. While we live in this world we are bound to encounter many challenges and obstacles, as we have done over the past two years with the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, we have overcome the terrible Covid Pandemic also on the other hand we are not free from other challenges.We must rely upon the two wings of our shared humanity Love and Compassion. Many good things will certainly come to mind when we reflect back on the medical services provided by MKCH in 2023. Let us remember all those good times, and rejoice in their occurrence, expressing our deep appreciation and gratitude to all those who contributed to their happening especially Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust and Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation for the medical camp organized in ladakh which have benefitted hundreds of people in the region and would like to extend gratitude to Shri R.J Rathnakar Managing trustee, Dr. Nimish Pandya All India President SSSSO and Dr. Gopi Pitadatala National team Member for giving special attention to Mahabodhi Hospital and providing all the necessary equipments and machines worth Rs 76 lakhs which was supplied and installed in our hospital as 1st phase for which all the members, students and staff of MIMC and people of ladakh is grateful to SSSSO.At present the hospital is now ready for providing health care services to the general public including the surgical intervention. Every human being must be given equal and adequate access to healthcare, and, therefore, I appeal to all individuals to join hands in improving the healthcare services in the Himalayan regions. I , with folded hands, on behalf of all beneficiaries our services, from depth of my heart would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all our supporters and friends for your continue unreserved supports and love.
